Two years have passed since the construction of the Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) began. Some of the results are starting to be visible, accounting for over seventy percent completion. Penajam Paser Utara Regency in East Kalimantan was chosen as the location for the establishment of IKN. Surely, the selection of this location was made with full consideration by the government for the welfare of the Indonesian people.
In the process of building IKN, there are many interesting facts that we can explore, which are presented in this article/post, including:
- The location of IKN is situated in the middle of Indonesia when measured from all directions, from north, east, south, to west.
- The area of IKN is four times larger than DKI Jakarta, namely 2,561 km2. Whereas Jakarta only covers 661.5 km2.
- The implementation of a multifunctional digital card for every transaction, which is the result of collaboration between the Ministry of PUPR and Bank BNI.
- Total investment in IKN until December 2023 reached Rp41.4 trillion.
- The design of the Presidential Palace in IKN is shaped like a garuda bird flapping its wings.
This information is quite intriguing because it surpasses many expectations of the public, yet it has been undertaken by the initiators of IKN, with the hope that Indonesia can become a better country and provide benefits for all its people.
